Notes on Framing
How to Buy

Most of the paintings on this Website are unframed. The artist recommends a simple metal frame with a ¼" overlap for abstract paintings. Gold tone looks best on paintings that are predominantly painted in the warm colors (red, yellow, orange) and silver tone looks best on the cold colors (blue and green). Paintings that have a black background look best with a black metal frame.

In general, a "modern" painting needs a "modern" frame and a "traditional" painting needs a "traditional" frame. However, tastes and environments differ and there are no laws forbidding anyone from following his own preference. Visiting museums is a good idea if you are interested in noticing how paintings are framed.

If you wish to have a painting custom framed, this can be arranged for an additional cost.
